After you establish your child’s reading level, you’ll go on a 6-step journey together that allows you to establish a reading space and rhythm in your child’s life that sustains itself over time. Let’s take a closer look:

• Step 1: You and your little one will choose one of the preselected stories curated, especially for you from your personalized homepage.

• Step 2: In the first few days of your journey, you’ll begin by reading the title of your chosen story to your child, while encouraging him or her to describe what he or she believes the story is about and to share everything he or she knows about the topic at hand. 

• Step 3: From here, it’s time to go on a picture walk through your book by viewing each page together and piecing together what you think could be happening.   

• Step 4: Now, it’s time to do a bit of reading. On day one or 2, you’ll move on to encouraging your child to touch each word as he or she reads the chosen story. 

• Step 5: After the read through, you’ll guide junior toward writing and/or drawing a response to the pre-populated writing prompt provided. This serves to further your child’s understanding of the text, improve recall, and reinforce high-frequency words. 
• Step 6: Finally, head to our Additional Practice tab on your homepage, which is where our fun reading games are stored. This provides another valuable opportunity to solidify your child’s connection to the reading experience and to send you both sailing past the finish line on your daily reading journey.
